all right let’s go episode we got the
Ricardo Jesus can’t keep counting this High when we started this I never
thought we’d even get to never mind I was hoping we’d stop at daughter I was like usually Vern like wants to do
all these cool this was like his idea mostly and usually he wants to do things and then he’s like a squirrel so it’s like now something else runs around and
then he wants to change his mind shiny Little Penny over there I’m going to go test this one out that one
keep sticking with this thing like now we have to build this cool room we have to start getting guests on because he
just didn’t want to let this one die but I’m glad he didn’t cuz it’s been fun it’s took good time yeah you guys are doing a great job with it I I love the
atmosphere and it’s awesome trying to keep up with you guys I feel like you guys are on your way if anyone hasn’t seen their social media you guys kind of
remind me of uh you know what’s that couple down in Texas that has like the husband does Real Estate they do flips I
feel like there’s dozens of them now oh uh Joe oh yeah the magnolia yeah you
guys are like the Massachusetts version of that we’re definitely opposites though cuz I’m Chip he’s Joanna you guys
might have as many kids as them too we might I actually yeah I think we’re tied yeah we got five yeah what’s it like trying to balance all this with five
kids well last year so last year was my first year not working as a nurse so
balancing the summer was really unexpected like the kids my my youngest
daughter was just like in my face at my office all day long and I’m like you need to go do do something so this year
we have a nanny my niece she’s nannying two days a week thank God because I’d get nothing done he would be fine but
I’d get nothing done just being harassed by the kids yeah it’s difficult um you can relate to shift work so throw my
power plant engineering job in on that and uh that’s why like she’s like superwoman over here she keeps the house
on the rails while helping me with the real estate and then uh this last year was like a lot of growth uh for the
business she really stepped in and uh I’d make grand and spend and she
was like no you don’t get all that so uh he said but I have all these cool toys oh my God right right but she brought a
lot of structured to the business and uh yeah it’s it’s going well he doesn’t have access to any cards anymore shut
him down completely took the bank account was like we’re doing this wrong it’s a love and hate I wake up and feel poor every day but she’s like don’t
worry we’re doing all right I see all your videos on Facebook where she’s giving you the budget where you think it
is where it actually is y exactly that’s what the first year was really hard
there were a lot of difficult conversations a lot of difficult days where we were overlapping because you
know she grew up her father’s small business owner with HVAC my dad was plumbing and so she has no problem
talking to contractors so it’s like we kind of had to figure out like okay I’m going to deal with the contractors with
my construction knowledge you’re going to put together the the design package you know etas deal with kitchen designs
and it was really a difficult year of finding our strengths and weaknesses in the business and now I feel like we’ve
we brought some clarity to the business and it definitely takes a while to figure out you know you have to be quick
with it you have to make decisions quick which is tough you know when I’m picking things out for my house it takes me forever to figure out you know what I
want to do it’s like I put projects off because I’m like I don’t want to just get into making more decisions right now I need some time to relax but when
you’re trying to manage all the flips and the contractors make sure you stay under budget and everything it’s got to
take a little bit to figure that out how many flips did it take you guys to be like all right we have a better idea now
we got this you know budget Wise It’s a little easier to figure out without you know really having to take forever to
put quotes together yeah I think this is where probably the last three or four of
our flips it was B definitely like once I left nursing and I kind of like had to dive in and like weed through all the
the stuff that was moving you know once we once I did that and I kind of do dove into all the projects I was like we’re
leaving money on the table we’re not budgeting correctly quotes are just like in thin air talking about I’m like but
then I’m getting charged another price kind of thing um so we definitely honed in on that once I left nursing yeah it
was like after three or four flips she was like listen I’m not redesigning every single house like here is the
design package and and she has it spelled out right down to what faucets we put in and and I didn’t think it was
really going to work you know to put it in every house and then even though we’re doing different style homes they
all come out beautiful at the end so so it’s really like simplified the process like you said like I only have so much
capacity for questions and now we’ve wiped you know % of them off off the table I think that’s why a lot of people
who are successful have do that exact thing and for you guys to figure that out so quickly and to make that change
because I know like I’ve been a part of a couple and I wasn’t really involved in the stuff and it’s like same thing oh
it’s going to cost this amount of money and then it’s double by the end of it you like you can’t keep operating like
this like we need more set numbers we need a more set plan CU also time is money the longer you’re holding those
properties the more money you’re spending and you’re and carrying costs or whatever you know or even if it’s
your own funds doing something else with it it’s stuck there right right we’ve um
been able to like really get our team together too like our contractors like our painters like we’re good to them
they’re good to us kind of thing whereas now it’s not so scary like oh is this the real quote are they going to be
there on time are they going to finish on time like we’ve really kind of got that together now which is nice Definitely how long have you guys been
doing the flips since this is probably year three I think it’s year three cuz
uh Rodney Street was the first one yeah this is like year two of intentionally doing it that’s awesome I mean we didn’t
know anything when we got into it like I bought a five family remember Melissa had that listing and I didn’t even know
that was a commercial property well that was like the eye opener like he brings me to this open house and I’m just sitting there like what what do you want
me to do with this five family and it was like a time capsule like nothing had ever been done Co happened like the kids
are homeschooled I’m like where what do you want me to do with this you know and I’m like you want to spend all this because we used our own money for that
we didn’t even take out any loans and I was like I didn’t see it you know and then we went in we started doing all the
work ourselves I think for the unit that was a big mistake the the kids are
literally doing homework in the living room while we’re rolling on paint and I’m like oh my God that was miserable
did you guys end up flipping that one or did you keep it so we we got rid of it but it was more of um a horrible idea um
really narrow-minded I guess cuz like we jumped back into racing motocross racing
so I had this ambition to try to qualify for uh Loretta it’s a big amateur National so I was like we need a camper
so so you raced too yeah yeah you raced too yep and all the kids raced uh and
all the kids well the two of them you guys flip more houses that’s yeah well then they all play hockey too so it’s
like you picked the two world’s most expensive sports maybe golf yeah right basically and you
run around like crazy with them all huh practice starts at like in the morning think he so I’ll tell you Mike’s
talked to me like a bunch of times and he always like ask me questions like how do you do this how do you do this and I’m sitting there on the back and I’ve never said this to you but I’m like how
the hell do you do this because my wife stopped working a few years ago which was a huge help but she just deals like
she’s not involved in my business at all and this is all I do like I’m I left the fire department back in so I’ve
been very involved in just this for quite a while you’re still balancing your original job right plus the real
estate plus five kids plus Motocross and all this I think it’s more like I should
be asking you how the hell you do this or when do you sleep because I feel like my life is easier than yours is right
now I usually uh I usually crash for about three days a month like in a row
you know it’s like tack all the sleep into days right right just kind of a little picked me up
but I’ll literally get the text hey I’m coming home and I’m going sleep till I’m like game over days no more
mic cuz he usually doesn’t come home and sleep he’ll come home and you work overnights yeah so it’s a rotating
schedule so for days I’ll be on days day and a half off nights and then you
do that twice and then you end up with six days in a row off so that six days in a row I was like I need something to
keep me busy so that’s kind of when I started being a realtor and then uh yeah I got to a point where I was like too
busy and I was like I need help and we had talked about it talked about it and then um she you know started having uh
episodes of seizures that then led into epilepsy and and she at that time she had done years in the ER and I was
like you know I understand nursing’s your passion and you love it but I don’t think it’s helping your health and uh I
said I think you should go get your realtor license I’m overwhelmed we can start doing this together and then uh
and that’s when we started to look to expand the business and stuff so it’s true truly without her I couldn’t do
half of what I do so just remarkable that with the kids and everything you have going on that you guys only take
three days off to sleep I need to think figure that one out has the medical
stuff been better since you Le left the hospital um so a lot like obviously the
seizures I haven’t had one in almost three years so which is great it was the longest I’ve been cuz I was going like
every two months um so which is a lot of my fault truthfully cuz I was really
kind of denying the fact it was happening and then you know you try the medication it’s terrible it’s horrible
you get on it and you I mean I was useless for probably six months like I just was a zombie because of the
medication so once I got I really was like denying that that was a thing so
once I had a I had a seizure while I was driving and that’s where I was like crap
I need to do something about this because I’m I can’t deny it anymore it is what it is so the worst part of it
for me was the medication I finally am on one that has little side effects um but the other problem was the emotional
effect like going from like I’ve always been a very independent person never like never ask for help on anything even
if I should I just don’t I just need to figure out how to do it to go into I can be sitting here talking to you and then
flopping like a fish on the floor you know what I mean so the loss of control for me was a big problem I had severe
anxiety like I would call him crying like driving home and I’m like who is this person this is not me you know so I
had to do a lot I actually did um ketamine therapy and that was like lifechanging like I was in my mind I’m
like not even a functioning human being because of all the anxiety I wouldn’t say depression like I wasn’t like in a
dark hole or anything it was just all anxiety driven the medication changes all all the testing you have to go
through like that was the problem so when I did the ketamine therapy it really like it just restructures your
Pathways you look at things different I don’t I’m a nurse and I was stroke certified and all that but I don’t know
the psychology of your brain or anything of where you put things but somehow they bypass where it was and put it where it
doesn’t matter anymore so I won’t say it’s perfect I’d say I’m probably like % better from all of that where like I
couldn’t do like he’d be like oh can you go show a house I’m like no I can’t cuz I don’t know this person what happened
you know it was just so anxiety you could just all sudden you wake up and you don’t know what just happened and
you hope you weren’t driving or you hope you don’t get serious that actually Segways right into when did this
business really start to flourish is you know the the Hot Topics leaving your W
to work on your own and uh I had gotten spoken to for calling out sick too many times to go racing so I said okay I get
it you know and then uh she actually did have a seizure driving on the way to Rhode Island um my daughters were going
to play at the Providence Bruins game with the hockey and uh so I I was going
to legitimately stay home go to work I called called out sick my dad came got the kids off the side of the highway
brought them to the game and then sent me pictures so we got her settled I posted the pictures to Facebook I might
have baited them into this but um I said thank you to everyone that made tonight
possible it’s all I said I’m not in the pictures I wasn’t there and uh the next
time I got to work I got pulled into an HR meeting and uh they actually disciplined me they put me on probation
for calling out sick I had her uh Hospital record everything with me and um and that was I told them I said this
is the day I mentally quit I said I have years of uh promotions reading to the
kids um at the Special Needs school doing everything I can to be a positive Ambassador for this company and today’s
the day I mentally quit I’ll show up I’m in a union so it’s a little bit of a different yeah yeah and um you know I
still show up I do my job I do it to the best of my ability but uh that was really the the turning point of we need
to build this business and and be in control of our own I totally get I was
the same like I was just checked out like I just I was I just felt like I I wasn’t giving % anymore with it
because I was so focused on this so what I was passionate about you know not only
the money side of it was way better but honestly I was just more passionate about it that’s what I wanted to consume
my time with that’s what I wanted to talk about and I’m like I’m checked out of this I can’t keep doing this because
I was St to have kind of similar problems like I worked as little as humanly possible at the fire department
you know I was trying to get people to cover my shifts as any way I could to
not work because every time I did I was losing money and I didn’t really want to be there So eventually I ripped that
Band-Aid off which ended up being the best thing that I’ve ever done but it’s hard to give something like that yeah they told me they’re like uh you can’t
have that day off cuz you’re out of vacation time I’m like I’ll just take it unpaid I I to
that’s that’s not spelled out in the contct baby I probably would stayer if
they would let me stay like for just like working like one weekend shift I know I said that to the hospital
that I worked at cuz I I mean that was probably the biggest biggest difference with us and the biggest hurdle for me to
get over because I genuinely liked my job I really did love my job and the
community within the ER that I worked at was so good it wasn’t like you were going in and like oh this is horrible
that person’s horrible blah there were problem I mean I’m a nurse I’m underpaid I work too long there’s not enough staff
sure you can go on but I genuinely love the people I love the yeah you work hard to get there too my wife’s in there same
thing I mean for her to leave I like was begging her to stop because it was becoming an inconvenience for me having
to be home a couple of nights with the kids that I could have been at another event or could have been doing something else or working more so I was begging
her to stop but it was super hard for her yeah right you don’t want them to lose their identity she’s probably to we
keep having kids like every few years so it’s become challenging but fin you have to go for five yeah I will not get there
I will not get there well I was telling you so we have twins that are um they’re technically still our foster kids but
we’re you know we’re getting I can have kids without even I mean like hopefully that doesn’t happen to me but I mean I think that’s a
pretty amazing story too that you guys with everything you have going on you took on that as well yeah it was was
funny though because when we got home from the hos I have these two little babies I’m like huh this was easy I
didn’t have to get fat I didn’t get you know I wasn’t miserable nothing I was like you just get babies of course you guys love it that’s how every guy feels
no recovery nothing was easy how old are the youngest three and a half three yeah and they came inys twin boys yeah they
came into our house first they came in on hours notice and then they came in
probably three months before like the height of your seizures uh maybe a
little longer but I was just like dude how can I handle anymore I was like God please to
flip houses the same time and you yeah Co and I was still working as a nurse at the time so and I worked through to
my whole career so he was basically a single dad at night and I felt terrible you know add on three hockey practices
the twins at night like it was a lot just taking kids anywhere there was a lot of work I couldn’t handle they’re in
car seats at hockey and stuff it was and then that medication she spoke on earlier like I never seen her like that
like just lay in bed hours a day it was it was crazy so Mike’s like I have five
kids hanging up in B and we’re going to play hockey and go dirt bike right yeah you guys are kind of getting through
that now like everything’s are getting older which obviously makes things easier stuff to do but our oldest is
starting High School this year I’m like this how she’s going to go to Stang for hockey cuz they have a good girls hockey
team I’m like how am I going to get her to staying minutes from our house and then back for all the other kids to get
to school I’m like oh my God yeah and you guys did all this with dealing with some legal issues too oh yeah there’s
still ongoing I don’t think it’ll ever end um I’m hopeful this time around I mean you
guys have for anybody listening to this you guys have probably one of the coolest properties nicest house you just
put in a crazy pool as well but you also have something that most people don’t have you have a dirt bite track yes
right and it’s a fits with what you guys like to do so explain what you guys have gone through with that so I think you
were still in nursing school when we saw this listing pop up and uh it was a house on acres and I’m like Is that
real common around here right and we literally didn’t know anything about real estate so we didn’t know like the
pictures were of what was going to be built so we drove bywhere’s the house we drive by we’re like where’s the house
so I was like call the guy tell him we want to buy it she’s like how do you know you want to buy it there’s no house I’m like we’ll figure it out it’ll it’ll
be fine and uh it took I I had to borrow $for my dad that’s how much I was
short on on buying the house that’s not too bad honestly we got we got married that year real estate that’s nothing we
had gotten married that year and literally every dollar from our wedding that people gave us we just put it towards the house that was it yep yep so
um yeah and he was hesitant cuz he thought you know we were making a big mistake and uh we actually bought that
house for and that house that you have built now no the tan house at the
top it was a three-bedroom and a half bath the prop garage property everything
and uh I actually had to get a letter saying that the property was no further subdividable for the bank to approve it
so fast forward we’re young dumb and we like dirt bikes so the first thing we
build is a dirt bike track and uh it’s about it’s it’s a strange property
there’s Acres uh sorry Acres of wetlands so there’s a random to acre
field in the middle of the property qu mile back yeah, ft from any
house and uh and it’s Upland so that’s where we built the dirt bike track and uh we got a couple couple neighbors that
don’t like dirt bike noise and uh that led into conservation Board of Health
zoning planning board we’ve been through them all and that was a super stressful time because we didn’t have the
additional income we didn’t have a lot of money but we just kept paying lawyers and kept paying Town fees and engineers
and you know we learned about buffer zones with wetlands and all this stuff and then uh we actually hired one of the
most expensive lawyers in taon and because we weren’t messing around we were really sick of it and uh he said
hey they didn’t put the Restriction of subdivision incorrectly they didn’t do
it as a deed restriction they just wrote it in like informally I when really so we paid him to
subdivide the property and uh yeah we went through the zoning board that took two years of fighting with lawyers and
stuff cuz we didn’t have any friends in town and uh come to find out probably a little less now yeah come
to find out we could subdivide our property so we subdivided it we built a road and uh we sold the property to
oursel for a dollar and that was a whole big thing cuz they’re like you can’t sell a property to yourself and I’m like
well it to exchange money and then uh and then we sold our house to our best friend and moved into a camper and we
did not have a building permit at that time I remember he just goes right it’s been
full you have no idea do you remember the day so we’re the kids had just left for school we had just sold our house we
no longer have a house we’re in a camper three dogs three kids and us and a
camper it crazy how old do you guys we’re gonna be this year in like
days yeah so we’re sitting there I’m sitting on the couch he’s sitting on the thing and he’s like the bank this is how
much they’re say like we we were supposed to be going to close on our construction loan and I’m sitting there like our contractor just said we can’t
afford this why are we going he’s like where are we going to live like I don’t know but this seems stupid so we did we
just went to the registry of deeds we assigned the stupid paperwork and I’m like it’s like you and I yeah figure literally this is Mike and I’m you and
I’m like why are we going to do fine just send it I’m sitting here I’m like now but I got a couple months it’ll be
fine’ll be by the time it all rolls around we’ll figure it out he throws those things to like distract you well
the site work’s getting done like there’s still no house like who cares about the site work if there’s no house
you know and we did a lot of work ourselves we did we tiled our whole first floor cuz you know five kids and
four dogs tiled the whole thing we tied the whole thing okay if that’s not a test of a marriage God I don’t know what
it is I don’t think my wife would have made it through that I don’t recommend that every bathroom every shower
everything we did I was like this is so but we saved so much money you know like we got to get like nice finishes is it
it’s about with the bonus room so yeah yeah and then we only use
square feet though like everybody uses my bathroom everybody uses my bedroom I’m like every everybody in my house has
their own bathroom and their own bedroom but they’re in my house kids yeah right right I got multiple beds in my house
but my boys sleep in the same bed they will every night and they don’t want to sleep separately I’m like just sleep in your own bed so you don’t get woken up
no I like sleeping with them yeah lonely yeah Mike one of the best videos you had was the pool that you put in so now I
have to ask you did you pull a permit when you put in the pool that you just uh you just did I did knowing that uh I
didn’t have a lot of friends in town and it took about days for them to call the town and see if I had a permit for
all the work I was doing we have drone stalking happening right now which in case you’re wondering there’s no
regulations that protect you from that it’s a whole video coming over property see what you guys are doing we had what
town do you guys live in Berkeley Berkeley yeah I had a drone we were watching the playoffs um for the Stanley
Cup I’m sitting here and I saw a light outside my window there’s a drone in my window yeah they actually the police did
a criminal investigation into it and the zoning this is all public record the
zoning inspector told one of the neighbors to record us with drones and
then they fined us $for riding dirt bikes on our property on our own property um so
that’s is it illegal to ride on your own property no what they did is they issued us a seasoned assist after riding for
years saying oh now it’s not okay for you to ride without a permit so we spent grand got a permit so then we
continued riding and then that’s when they did the Drone videoing and finded us we went and got a special permit
spent grand on that and then now they record us to make sure we only have seven bikes on the track at a time
because that’s our stud stipulation but at some point so you got the permit we got the it’s being appealed oh and now
they’re appealing the per so now we have to pay to defend the permit that they wanted us be cheap if you buy the
neighbor’s house oh my God that’s actually not a bad idea might next but you know the silver lining in
all this is look at how much knowledge we gained how many resources we met how many relationships we formed to then
benefit our clients later down the road that we had no idea you know what what we were doing model like he I threw
myself into the so that you don’t have to my wife it all up for me I just
make really wor I already did this I didn’t think about it I just don’t write in I did it but now we know it’s super
funny because he he will I don’t want to say you Babble because you give good information but I’m like shut up shut up
don’t answer a question unless you’re asked we’re sitting at public meetings like we’re doing a hearing I’m like shut up because I’m like you’re going to make
them ask more questions or say something you shouldn’t I’m like don’t answer the question unless you asked and then I I
started telling my kids that cuz one of them was she told a kid to meet her at the common so they could square up
because he was uh bullying her or whatever and I was like you admitted to the principal you said that and she goes yeah I was like did anybody see you say
that and she was like no I’m like shut your mouth my God like make them prove it you know yeah yeah like the night you
were doing donuts out of the track and popped your tire off the deed and I I drive I get email from GMC your car has
low tire pressure I’m like huh that’s weird I’m waiting I’m waiting I get a phone call from her she’s like hey uh
I’m out at the track and the tire it just fell off the bead oh it just fell off right I go out
to the track I’m like what happened all of them in unison
nothing so then later on they tell me mom said only answer questions don’t give any additional information the
right question down my listen my dad grew up in like West rockberry so like
you only answer the questions that you’re asked he’ll tell you how rocks thrown everywhere tire marks what
happened was really so it was a new car I just I just got the car and uh which made it worse RI Donuts on the track new
made it way worse so we’re out there the kids of pond we have a pond so it froze the kids were out there playing hockey
one of the kids forgot their stick so I drive back out there and I was like oh this is perfect like everything it’s cold everything so let’s just do it it
sucked so I was like let me figure out how to turn off traction control so I turned off traction control we whipped around like three times there was this
big rut slammed it felt like I hit a wall and I was like RI it right off right off it was like perfect hee just
gone I was like I’m sitting there like what do we do do we call him I’m like asking advice for my -year-old like do
we call Dad he’s just looking at his phone I just feel like you would be mad you would just be like did you get it on
video at least so that’s why love having a really cool wife it’s like you just
got to deal with you don’t expect to have those calls but she’s doing cooler than we are that’s what it comes
just jealous you didn’t you know what my answer was step it up well first I asked so I was like all right if he doesn’t look mad video it but if he looks mad
don’t video it so she’s he gets out like oh don’t video it I’m telling you these guys need their own like reality they
really do after just sitting here like HDTV if you’re listening these guys are called because it is gold what time of
night was this when I was like NI had just worked to I forget what project
you had me do when I got home and then it’s freezing C at night and she rips the tire off the bead and now I got
to go out there I load up the car jack I load up the I’m pissed yeah he was mad
yeah and then my my excuse or my um I was just like you did it in your truck and he was like I have a B I was
like I know it was a bad idea I’m sorry got to make sure they still build them as good I was like they’re not came
right off mil blew right off she’s the only hockey mom with beaded Wheels right
don’t pop off I ful of kids too so it was my three kids um three kids that
showed up to play hockey and we’re all just sitting there like oh my God we’re in so much trouble so bad that’s when
people are like oh like it must be awesome having a wife that like rides Motocross with you I’m like yeah but she
knows how expensive everything is so I can’t be like oh those boots were bucks like she knows they’re $so
it’s the it’s the love hate of it but the first year that we started dating I tell everybody the story the first time
that we ever went racing by ourselves without our parents we were at Southwick remember you remember we were still racing in the
same class CU I was a lot faster then than I am now and faster than him or just faster she’s not faster than me
anymore not anymore not anymore we have transponders back when we first started
dating I was equal or better yes I will agree to that at this time a long in the
archives so first time tuning down her bike so she doesn’t feed them I think we had only been dating a
few months it wasn’t like long relationship yet and I was like all right let’s go I’ll go with you I don’t know if I trust you my dad does my bike
work I well whatever so I go I beat him it’s called a whole shot first person to get to the corner so I beat him to the
corner we go up through this thing I just I don’t even know I hit a rock or something just swung out snaap my shoulder I’m laying in the ground like
an ostrich in the sand and I’m like I can’t get up it’s broken he I see feet and he’s like hey you okay I was like no
kept going I was like what the heck only time he beat you yeah so I get up the
Medics come over you get me up they drive me up to the camper and I’m sitting there on a bike stand and I’m just like it’s broken I need you to pack
up so we can go to the hospital and he’s like oh he’s like shovel it around whatever and I was like Could you hurry
up like I’m in a significant amount of pain here so he’s like are you sure it’s broken I’m positive it’s broken we get
in the cam I’m like you have to help me get undressed like I have a sport they’re going to just cut everything off he’s helping me he takes my jersey off
and he goes oh my God if they have to put that back in like I can’t be in the room for this and I was like this is
what I got into I don’t do that type of so funny and then you had to call my dad and be like hey we’re at Bas eight
medical I was like it still sticks out of her shoulder you want to show my wing show
them oh wow yeah it does like what was it like a grade four separation grade four separation they were supposed to
fix it but the orthopedic was like and I finished the race yeah he did they told they at the Finish Line they stopped him
and they like hey your girlfriend needs you like oh my God it’s not that serious yet it’s only a few months fine yeah
she’ll be fine so it was sticking up more than that yeah it was sticking up more than this they wanted to pin it down but I did some research and I was
like you like well it’s ugly and I was like so was a scar like I feel like this would be better than throwing a pin you
know so yeah that was my dad’s Mike just finishes the race no big deal yeah I
just think it’s funny that when her dad used to tune the bike she beat him now that he do the bike she doesn’t so that
is I mean you might want to look into that down on that this is a great point
though cuz I recently asked for some changes to be made and he didn’t listen to me yeah sure did his own thing and I
was like that’s not what I wanted and I made you change it to the way my dad did it y y it was way better so funny you
guys are both into Motocross I used to love it when I was a kid but like just it’s so hard to find somewhere to race
and to get into it that unless your parents are into it just legally build a track in the back of your house it
doesn’t matter if you have Acres or four I got chased by the cops and I was like we’re selling everything and I
might I probably shouldn’t admit this on camera but for years I stole toilet paper from work
I worked in Boston as an intern like that’s how cheap we were and I didn’t I saved every single penny and then we
bought this place and I was like I’m going to build my own damn track that’s awesome yeah so that’s how it all came
about so the story is pretty amazing and what you guys do on a daily basis is it’s crazy that you deal with all this
stuff I think everybody listening is going to definitely want to get you guys a show I was I was stunned after five
kids nurse it’s crazy that you just keep powering through it you know a lot of people just want to pull the trigger and
be like you know what this isn’t worth it I’m going to go back go back to regular Jobs go back to whatever it’s
easier but you guys kept sticking through it through the hard times and now I feel like life’s probably a little
bit better and you’ve powered through and it’s only going to keep getting better at this point yeah the last year and a half has been absolutely amazing
and you know I feel like we’re the perfect ying and yang for one another because oh we’re po opposites at one
point I was like dude let’s bulldoze this track throw some solar panels out there collect the money and we’ll ride
somewhere else and she was like Not Over My Dead Body she’s like I will ride out there with my kids forever and that’s
what really like kept us going and then on the flip side of that like my dad taught me to dream and I don’t think
having you know a large family in New Hampshire and a large family down here the family down in Massachusetts they
had like the ability to dream and to want more and uh and I feel like at some
points in our life she was kind of like content like when she got her nursing license she was like like this is it I’m going to be a nurse the rest of my life
and I’m like but you don’t want more that’s like the social Norm though like like you made it to nursing school you
got through it you did it you know then get a job you know but like my dad like he’s like no I’m going to have the
million dooll home I’m going to have this property in New Hampshire that he’s building now and and that’s where that’s
probably one of the best gifts that my dad gave me and and then uh finding her
it is pretty rare you know to have some sort of a mentor father or whatever that actually like isn’t afraid to like push
you to dream bigger because so many people are like no go get a to-job go get a Wjob go do this like the fire
department don’t leave the fire department he was and he actually admitted he was like you know I was kind of wrong about that real estate thing
what you were doing I mean was a really good job too like the power plant stuff’s not like you know you’re working
at McDonald’s or something like that you had like you have a legit job but it’s a tough thing to give up yeah and I went
to you know Massachusetts Maritime Academy for four years so like he’d seen all the buildup to get that job so he
kind of felt like I was throwing it away to focus on real estate and i’ I’ve still been able to do both but um you
know he started to see the power of real estate when we were flipping bringing him in as a investor and stuff like that
now I’m making money on it’s cool well guys thank you so much for coming I know you got to run to go pick
up one of your children and got to go back the track to race but thank you
guys so much for coming it was a absolute pleasure we’ll definitely have you guys on again yeah awesome thank you so much it was a pleasure being awesome
all right guys see you next time
